City county champ jacket and headband

Kate received her new jacket and headband for winning the city-county soccer championship last night at the awards banquet.

Chris and I were unable to go because we were at ACE hardware's banquet where Chris received the top 2 awards in the company!!! I'll send a video of the "minute to win it" game that each store participated in! It was a fun evening for all, we just wish we could be at two places at once!!

Big winner last night

HIGH SCHOOL

Kristen had her high school scheduling meeting Wed night!! It was exciting and stressful all at the same time. She talked to all the departments and groups at each of their booths (even told me to be quiet as she wanted to do the talking :)! Everyone was nervous and shed a tear or two over the whole growing up and making grown up decisions!!! She has decided on a tough schedule, but we KNOW she will do great!! Rock on class of 2015!!!

Heartbreaking

Hard loss for Kate today against Fox (grrr I hate them ;) she had a great game, but got thrown all over the court. At least 10 jump balls where the much taller and stronger girls flung her around! Way to be tough Kate!

Super save...

With his NECK! look at the imprint of the ball even after the game! He played above and beyond today in goal! Boys were 2 and 3 years older and Wil took a beating!! Winner 7-4.

Futsal

Not happy that we are playing futsal on a tile floor. Wil played amazing and had lots of diving and sliding saves.

Other

Lol, ok so I am never going to be able to post everything that we do in a weekend. Even I am exhausted just thinking about how busy our schedule is. Individually each of the kids are balanced in their free time, school work, sporting events, & musical activities. But mom, not so much. Some days I wonder if I am going for mom of the year or sucker of the year. This weekend the kids had 9 sporting events, 2 musicals, a Christian overnight lock in ( where not only did I run my kids but everyone elses and I got up at 5:45am to take them all home), a second sleepover by Kate (not planned, why do I say yes) where she had to be picked up at 8 for a Bball game and I had to get all her stuff ready, and a third sleepover at our house last night. I also met an old neighbor late on night and then hosted my basketball trivia night Saturday.we had about 160 people plus all three girls basketball teams there. Chris worked all weekend and still met me late nights and I only needed help with 2 kid events! Thanks coach Brian for taking Kate and taking her out for pizza after!

Other highlights.... Kate won her first blue vs red futsal game and had a great game! William had his first futsal game and was goalie with dozens of saves and then in his second game he played forward and had THREE goals to help his team come back and win 7-6!! It's 10 am on Sunday... More later :)

Aladdin Jr

Both girls were amazing in their middle school play on Friday. Kate was the first guard and was excellent! This is Kristen's last middle school performance and she was amazing! She is smiling in this picture but while on stage she was always the evil Jafar, so much so that many people told er after that they didn't know she was as girl until the end when she came out for her bow and she took off her hate. She had several solos and her voice was perfect. She absolutely enjoys being on stage and making people happy. :)

Wizard of Oz

While Kristen and Kate have been working hard on their play, William has been holding the fort down at the high school! He rides the bus by himself everyday, gets off at the corner, walks across the high school campus and gets to the choir room for rehearsal! Of course he checks in on his cell phone and I am on campus at the gym, but still super responsible! We will let you know when the HIgh school has their show!

Wil at the History Museum

Wil and his class have been working all year long on a special project related to the closing of his elementary school at the end of this school year.  They have been working with the Missouri History Museum and they will be the FIRST CLASS EVER to have a student run exhibit! He has been on several trips to the museum, working on the design and layout, as he is project manager. The Missouri History Museum staff has had wonderful things to say about Wil's leadership.  I will let everyone know when it is open and we will have a HUGE opening party!! So excited! Luke 18: Soul'd out

Here is Kristen getting her cross at the ending ceremony for her youth retreat! She had an amazing time and has no voice left (she should blog about it, hint hint KJ!). The music was super fun and from all the stories she told me I know it was a big weekend for her. She was also exhausted as she fell asleep in the chair at 6:00!

Bball

Kate's first St Paul game was today! They lost by 1 bucket in the last second, so heartbreaking! Kate played a great game! She's the one with the light blue tshirt on under her jersey.

Not broke

I was afraid to post a before picture, since the last time I joked about it, it really was broke! No break but he tore the ligament in his knee. Very swollen and very painful. Doctor says stay off of it and see how it feels in 4 days and then see a specialist. Kids heel quickly, but we won't know until swelling goes down. Poor guy :(

Luke 18:

Kristen is attending her first overnight retreat. I am missing her, but super happy too. They greeted her at the door, she got her name tag and tagged her stuff. They are doing their prayers and youth group at the church school since our church was hit by the tornado. She will be staying at a "sleep house" with six other girls and she was super excited she knew one of the girls. They had to say goodbye to me and then go inside. The theme is "soul doubt"... There were about 50 high school kids decked out in "soul" outfits and sunglasses and huge horns (from the world cup soccer game I can't remember the name right now). Everyone was jumping up and down and singing songs about Jesus. I wanted to keep spying but they kicked me out ;). She called me at 11:15 to say she was at the sleep house and they had just finished a Christian dance party that was soooooo fun and she is having an amazing time and has learned so much!! She finishes with mass at 3:30 Sunday.

Wil's report

William is writing his first 5 paragraph research report. Most have choosen topics like Abraham Lincoln or George Washington. William said that was too easy and he wanted to pick something he didn't know much about, so he looked in his universe book that Santa brought and he picked the Voyager II. He has done all his own research (until last night when I had to read some official documents to him). Funny thing is he is now addicted to the NASA website, CLICK HERE to see what I found in my email this morning!!

First week

Well we started off the new year being LATE to school and work. Seems the iPhone had an alarm glitch and everyone over slept! That being said, we have not stopped running all week! Lots and lots of basketball for Kate, Wil had his first Bball practice, soccer for everyone and PLAY practice for the girls at Sperreng AND for KJ and Wil at the high school!!! Kristen's show will be Friday, Jan 21 at the high school at 7:00pm! Not sure on Kate's date as she is a 6th grader and she is the palace guard, but both girls are in each show as extras for 4 nights next week and 3 the following week! Doesn't seem like 2011 is going to slow us down at all :)

Best of 2010

Ok so maybe it should be 2010 in review! Before the blog, when I just kept everything on a calendar, Chris and I would review the year. When the kids came along we would not only use the calendar but the photo albums as well to review the year!  Now my calendar is on my phone, not to mention most of the photos!! It still was a great year and although it was not the best ever, it was slow and steady and since I've seen the highs and lows I'll take the slow and steady anytime!! So here are a few of the things that our family remembers of 2010! Thanks for being a part of our lives!!

Traveling: Phoenix, Table Rock, Durango, Kansas City, Columbia, Cape Girardeau, Memphis
Soccer: St. Paul tournament champions, Kate city-county champs, Kristen & Kate playing on the same soccer team and winning district championship, Kate switch club teams to Lou Fusz, World Cup Soccer
Family: Cousin Blair, Chutka pregnant, Chris employed all year with ACE
Hospital visits: Chris' tooth, Wil's broke finger, Kate' broke toe
Kids: Kristen officially a teenager, Kristen "Do the Right Thing" Award , Kristen making the cheerleading team, Kate finishing elementary school, Kate soccer campout, Wil's gifted classes
