Variety Show

Tonight!

Cotillion

Kristen's first cotillion dance was a success! She learned 4 different
hand holds and three basic dance steps! And of course danced with
boys, who in her words were so nervous they were shaking. She had fun!

Variety show

William is doing a dance with my class in the talent show. It is an
Indian type dance to the song Jai ho, from the movie Slumdog
Millionaire! Tonight was the dress rehearsal, so awesome!

Monday mornings are rough!

Monkey

On Kristen's soccer team if you play an incredible game your teammates
award u the monkey! Kj played out of her mind awesome! Had a goal
where she settled a huge pass on inside of her knee and then she
kicked it in the goal! They tied 5-5 against an awesome team! Kj had 2
assists and helped to shut down this superstar on the other team!
Great hustle Kj!!!

Sports weekend

Wil won his basketball game 19-8. He scored 7 points! Kate had two
soccer games! And Wil also had a swimming birthday party! Do it all
again tomorrow.

Kristen

Kj did a fabulous job in her play! Thanks to everyone who came! She
loved the flowers!!! I will post other pics soon as I get them off the
camera!! Awesome job Kristen!!

Guitar lessons

Ok so two years of piano lesson and I finally agreed to switch to
guitar lessons. We are taking 16 weeks of group lessons before we chew
off private lessons. It is going to be an adventure!!!

Snow day

Score

Great games for Kate this weekend. She came back from 4-0, to tie 4-4,
and she scored two and assisted one! And she won first game 7-5.

In basketball we had our first tie ever, but it turns out the score
keeper was cheating for his sister, so it ended up being a win for us.

Kristen won 3-2 in a hard won battle early this morning.

Daddy is feeling better and it is looking like his root canal will go
as planned on Thursday.

Grease

Aunt Sara, the girls, and I went to see Grease at the Fox last night.
Dinner at 11/11, so good. Show was awesome! Taylor Hicks from American
Idol was too cute! Thanks Bushia and Aunt Sara!!!

Rough week

Daddy having work done on his tooth.
Mom tiny scare at doctors.
And poor Wil with strep throat!
But we are all good!
Prayers for Kate's friend Emily's mom who found out she has colon
cancer...

Wil

Wil started new gifted class this semester. One of his classes is
puppetry and here is his first paper puppet named "Wil!"

On another note I overheard Wil talking to his friends and heard him
say, "I like lots of music, but my theme song is I make those good
girls go bad!" OMG LOL.

He also has the daily count down going on until he starts guitar
lessons. He is going to do 8 group lessons with a music teacher to see
how it goes.

He has so many comments daily that I wish he had a tape recorder with
him! His favorite phrase of the week is "I think it is highly unlikely
that..." he still continues to be our comic relief!

He also is working on memorizing his multiplication facts for an ice
cream party. He is taking his 7s tests today!

Busy weekend

Wil played goalie in futsol against 5 th grade boys! It was a tough
game, they lost but never gave up. Today in indoor soccer he won 15-1
( not a typo).

Kate lost 2 and won 1 today. Not bad after throwing up all Friday
afternoon.

Kj lost 11-9, but the other team had a ringer! Seems that at least one
of the girls on the other team got in her car and drove away
herself!!! Not exactly a 12-13 year old girl! A protest was filed with
the league.

Christmas has been officially put away, at least inside! The outside
is covered in snow.

Kj had a 6 hour play practice today. He first show is Tuesday and she
is soooo excited!! The following week she is performing at the high
school.

Back to school in the morning for our first full week in a long long
time!

Christmas

Christmas decorations are packed up, now to tackle the tree tonight.

Weekend

So because of the snow we have had a four day weekend! We sled every
day of course and had too many kids on sleepovers! Kate got sick
yesterday but is better today. A few weeks ago, Wil made a 3 point
shot in his basketball game so in every game since he makes 3 pt
attempts! Today he was super close again!! He had a great game and won
big!! He has soccer later and so does Kate.

Christmas morning

Ok, so I was doing more watching than taking pictures and I really need a new camera :-) but it is still classic Ohler video!

Kate

Saturday Kate had a futsol game, score was 0-0. The other team had a
break away with just Kate getting back to cover, it was three on one.
Kate chose to drop back and cover her weakside player, which left the
ball advancing to the goalie un covered. The girl was about to shoot
and Kate took two giant charging steps towards her and the girl goes
to dump the ball to the weak side player that Kate just left (everyone
in the place just knows they are going to score, except Kate) I have
no idea how she does it, but in mid stride sticks her left foot out
hugely far (yeah I know hugely right?) but she stops the pass dead on
her foot dribbles forward towards the other goal, makes a move and
steps around a player, passes the ball to herself, last defender is
charging at her, makes a move passes the ball to the outside of her
own left foot as she gives the ball a definitive tap with the outside of
her left foot, the goalie lunges for it and the ball goes in the lower
corner of the goal and Scores!! Chris and I look at each other and he
says,"wow... That's all I got to say about that, wow." lol it was too
amazing for words! Winner!!

Best of 2009

2009 was full of lots of wonderful moments big and small...so here are some of the big ones...tried to do a top ten, but couldn't limit it to ten (nice problem to have)...so in no particular order here are some of the things we were thankful for in 09...
