Wil's book report

Well it took about 3 hours but he finally finished his project! It
looks awesome and he did it all himself. Now he just has to write a
commercial and present it to his class!

Wil's book report

This is the back of his cereal box. He created a maze and a word search.

Happy Birthday, Caleb!

We miss you!

Soccer

Ok so I have a bunch of video clips of Wil at his last soccer game. Guess I should have editted out the audio, but you can hear people on the sidelines and of course mom and dad :-).

BFL

That would be "best friends for life." LOL! Kristen kidnapped her
friend this morning, yes with ski masks and light sabers, before the
sun came up. The birthday girl had to wear what they picked out, which
is crazy, including the dork glasses. I took them to Waffle House for
breakfast. Everyone is getting a big kick out of them. I am slightly
freaking out as all Kristens friends are turning 13, which mean she
will be there soon! Mom, needs a nap!

Spirit week

This week at KJ school they are having spirit week for homecoming.
Yesterday was favorite sports team jersey day. Today is twin day.
Kristen and her friend Elizabeth made matching shirts and were twins
for the day. Fun!

Breakfast in bed

I was not feeling good this weekend so Kate made me breakfast in bed,
complete with eggs and mini muffins. She is so struggling with wanting
to stay little but very much enjoying the perks and freedoms of being
older. She is going to Phoenix in a few weeks with her brother and she
is already planning on how she is going to be the big sister. Being
the second daughter is an interesting position to be in. She is very
competitive but at the very same time is the great peace maker.
Although in the past you were never quite sure which Kate you were
going to get, she is so much more mature this school year. Yes, we
still have our moments but I am seeing serious sights of maturity!
Love you, Kate!

Volleyball

Although her team lost all three games Kate did return a serve for a
point and got two serves over the net for points! She was very excited!

Happy 80th Birthday Aunt Irene!

After a full day of soccer we celebrated Aunt Irene's birthday!

Kate's first volleyball game

Tonight Kate had her first volleyball game against Villa at St Peter's
gym ( where Amy won the sixth grade city-county Bball championship:)
She lost the first one 25-20, won the second one 25-17 and lost the
last one 23-25!! She got a few serves over and at least one bump to
score a point. She was super nervous and looked like she might cry at
any moment but was soooo happy when the game was over.

317 miles in 2 days

Gets your car washed! Thanks kids!

226.5

226.5 miles I drove Saturday to get kids to all their activities!
226.5!! 226.5!!

Squid winner

Wil won his squid game too. He got to play every position, except left
wing.

Assist

Here is Kristen in yellow, playing her teams first divisional game of
the season. They won 1-0 with a sweet assist from KJ!!

Polish festival

Can you say too much food? Polish sausage, sauerkraut, stuffed
cabbage, polish potatoes, perogies, and beans! And way to many
chrusciki and pastries ( and polish vodka). Aunt Vic and Kristen
danced the polka, and so did Kate. The kids made out with three bags
full of prizes (including popcorn bowls and coasters!) Fun times!

Fall color

I love my gardens... Fall flowers are starting to bloom!

My bad

There was a minute left in the game and I thought I could post to the
blog, but Wil scored AGAIN with 30 seconds left! So two goals for Wil!

Wil scores!

Well if I gotta get up at 7am on a Saturday, it's nice to see your kid
score.

And one more

Picture because he is so cute ;-)! He had a great day! He said,"it
must have been a short day because it went by so fast, just like math
class." I think Wednesdays are going to be his favorite day of the
week now!

So excited

Couldn't keep him in my room, he was out the door in a flash!

First day of LEAP

He and his sisters spent hours picking out his outfit! He could not
sleep last night and got up super early!

Snowflakes

Ok, so I think the snowflake lady at the city museum is going to adopt
my kids. They can spend hours in her craft room. It touches me when
strangers make a lasting impression on my kids.
I was just looking at the pictures from our very busy weekend and each
one makes me smile for a different reason.

Today y98 gave away free rootbeer floats at sonic and Thomas took them
for treats, before dropping 2 at soccer
! I love having a babysitter who can drive!

Busy busy day tomorrow! Everyone is so excited and can not go to
sleep! Pictures and updates soon!

And since we are already downtown

Let's spend a few hours at the city museum! Hey, daddy may have
chocolate cake, but mom is the field trip queen!

Part 2

Labor day parade

Yes! 5 bags of candy and about 35 twinkies!

Haircut

Wil got a long overdue haircut... Little gel and a front flip, all
good for a cool third grader.

Middle school, stuff, and good news...

sigh...I had a mini-day in the life of a 7th grader tonight. Two hours of what KJ's day is like, let's just say that I would NEVER want to do it again. Not only is her work load SO high, you also have to deal with all those hormones! KJ manages SO much better than her dad or I would! It was good timing for me as Kristen and I have had a few eye rolling, let's just not talk to each other days. It is good to get a perspective that it IS still really hard to grow up! She is doing a great job.

We are SUPER busy with school and homework. Kate is finding 5th grade to be a challenge. She is blessed with a super patient teacher, but the amount of homework in math and reading is something that she is not used to doing. We are slowly finding a rhythm, her not crying and me letting her work it out! She got two A's and a B last week so she is up to the challenge!

Wil has super good news, his tests scores were awesome last year so he was given an IQ test and qualified for our gifted program. Tonight we had his open house and he starts next week. Every Wednesday he will not go to regular school but will attend the district's gifted program for enrichment. He is super excited and proud of himself (and of course so are mom and dad :-).

Kate started Volleyball this week. She has never played before and since she cried at tryouts, I wasn't even sure she was going to go! But Bushia took her and she hasn't said anything about it, so hopefully it will all go smooth!

Wil is being invited to play in lots of soccer tournaments. Now that he is playing CYC and SLYSA it seems that everyone wants him on their team.

Kristen is full swing into show choir, with 6:30 a.m practices. She loves it. Her drama group is in the process of selecting the middle school play production and it is narrowed down to a few titles. She is hoping for the Little Mermaid (her aunts will love that ;-).

It always seems that if I don't post every day I miss so much stuff, but life is very full and more important happy!
