Spiked

So today we have very tall spiked hair. Seems both the boys and the girls loved his hair yesterday so today he told them he was going to wear it slicked back like Danny in Grease. Unfortunately his hair does not like to go back so we settled for this version today.

And the mommy ATM was open again today. Money for Kate's field trip, money for Kristen's lunch account and money for school store. I calculated how much money we spend on average per month on kids activities (just fees, not the equipment) and just organized activities (not friends birthday parties, the mall, movies, plays, science fairs, or living expenses, like entertainment, food, clothes, etc.) the amount is amazing! We are going to have a budget discussion this weekend.

Hair again...

Seems that Wil got a little too much attention for his cute hair yesterday. All of the girls were fawning all over him, didn't make him popular with the boys. So today he wore a mohawk to impress the boys. Not sure if I should be supporting this, but I know he is just trying to figure out who he is and what his place is in this world!


Kristen is home sick today. She is so congested she can not breath and she is just plain exhausted. Kate "shopped" in her sister's closet last night and has on the cutest outfit with her ugg boots today. She is adorable!

Last night we all had piano and Wil went to WC soccer training. We also watched two American Idol shows, we are still two behind. The girls played the game clue while watching. When Wil got home from soccer skills he was soaked, he got in the tub with Sonny! I'm not exactly sure who washed who, but when I laid with William to read books and prayers his hair smelled exactly like the dog shampoo!!

Mommy Mississippi...

Well I was gone Friday through Sunday, but it seems the children survived. I visited an old friend and had a fabulous time! Short update on kids...Kate had two soccer games and lost them both! ugh! Wil tied his soccer game 4-4, but had another incredible shot with his left foot, I'm beginning to wonder if he is not left footed like his dad. Kristen won her last game of the indoor session and officially took the championship! So excited as she also scored TWO goals! Not her record of three in one game, but she did score two awesome goals! Kate missed her basketball game because of scheduling conflicts. Wil won his basketball game and Kristen had basketball practice! Phew! Daddy did a great job getting everyone where they needed to be! Seems everyone got a stuffy nose too this weekend, so lots of meds to help with that! Thanks Daddy!

This morning, Wil gelled his hair in my bathroom. Some mornings it takes everything I have to not laugh, but when it was done he did look cute! Just watching him watch himself in the mirror is a hoot! And here is a picture he drew of our house. Pretty amazing!

Snow...

Well Monday night at piano lessons, it started to get nasty. The girls did not want to leave as they were looking through song books. Daddy came and got Wil early to take him to footskills practice with a boys WC team. Do not know if he is going to try out or not, just wanted to see what it was all about!!

We stopped at the neighbors on the way home and kept checking the radar...no way we were going to have school, but still it hadn't been called off! The kids put their clothes on inside out and put an orange in the fridge and we had a "let's hope for a snow day party!" We went out sledding in the neighborhood from 9-10 and when we stopped at the neighbors the computer said NO SCHOOL, so of course that meant more fun outside in the snow until way late and then a sleep over!

The next day it was cold and nasty, the kids went out a few times and then we all went over to the big hill at Life C church. There was enough snow for some of the sleds.
Daddy tried out his snowboard for the first time. It was still a LOT of fun. Even if it was full out sleeting and freezing rain, our coats and hats were covered with a layer of ice by the time we left. Another big snow dinner with our neighbors and school was called this time at 8:30p.m. so the kids went out and built a snow fort.

Wednesday was perfect for sledding. Daddy and I were up early shoveling before he went to work. Then the kids and I tried out a new hill in the neighbor's backyard (he just had it cleared of trees last summer). It is FAST and has two good jumps. Mommy, of course, went first and ended up face first in the snow buried with enough snow packed into my eyeballs to freeze my retinas! Kate and Wil thought it was hillarious! That is how the day went, sledding, clothes in drier, eating, tv, sledding, clothes in drier, eating, sledding, clothes in drier...off to church to sled with Uncle D and Chutka and cousins! It was a perfect day for sledding! The kids went up and down dozens of times. Wil was the first to attempt the big kids jump, but pretty soon everyone had the hang of the jump! Wil rode on top of his sisters at least twice on the tube over the jump, no injuries. Caleb (our 2 year old cousin) was the big hit of the day. All he wanted to do was go down the hill, maybe it had something to do with the fact that someone else had to carry him back up!


We ended the evening with dinner at red robyn with family. What a perfect two snow days! Baths and three very tired kiddos asleep early! I love snow days!!

Weekend whirlwind...

So not only did we have the Grease production Friday night, Saturday and Sunday were packed with activities.

Saturday morning started off with Kristen's soccer game. Her indoor soccer team MKB sealed the championship with a WIN! They have one more game next weekend, but this win clinched the championship for her. She had a very good game and on one particular move, her dad yelled,"way to go Frenchy!" She was red with embarrassment. So proud that she is so talented in so many areas!

We then spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon at Bushia's playing with their cousins. Kate had spent the night with them and Hannah and Emily were attached to Kate. Kate then had a basketball game. She won and had some incredible rebounds and shots! She won 40ish to 4. Sigh...I really do try to slow them down!




Wil also had a basketball game. He has incredible shots. He is still in the instructional league, which means the defense can not come out of the box and everything is regulated, from possessions to free throws, well everything!




And here is a picture of Sonny's favorite treat, courtesy of Kate...as well as her "signature" note/drawing. You can find these everywhere, she has been drawing and writing the same thing for 3 years now, it is still my favorite!



And then again Sunday...Wil had a soccer game with Truman United and he scored a wicked shot from outside the box using the outside of his left foot and put it in the top right corner! Kate had footskills at Viz, where they worked on stations. And Kristen had a game at Rockwood (where they got about 3 inches of snow- we hardly had any at the house). She lost 4-32, but held them to 10 points in the second half. She had a very aggressive game! With lots of steals and jump balls. We spent the evening at Uncle David's and Daddy made dinner. Wil ended up with a migraine that sorta went away, because we caught it early but then on the drive home it came back full force. UGH! The girls and I spent the evening with homework and President Jackson's Nullification stance (look that one up ;-). Believe it or not we even squeezed in all our chores (except Kristen who spent the night sat at a friends) and got a project done around the house! Kate and Wil finally carried the santa snowman down to storage, wonder what else I will find hiding from Christmas. We also filled in our February calendar, looks like it is just as busy as January!

Frenchy..

Well Kristen's play was wonderful! We had over two full rows of supporters and she was super happy. She has a great stage presence and everyone was so proud of her!



She received lots of flowers and was really flattered by them. Her younger cousins actually made a paper bouquet that I didn't get a picture of, it was too cute!


We are both sad that it is over. Hard to believe how much fun it was! We went out to Chevy's to celebrate afterwards with friends and she had a great time wearing her pink lady jacket and giving us private singing performances! It was a fun night. On her cell phone she signs her tag line "love-Frenchy" she was really sad on the way home that she was going to have to change her phone! I think she should keep it! Homework marathon

Last night Kate had the misfortune of having to tell her dad about a bad math grade. Long division is giving her lots of trouble. Kate and her dad worked on division for two hours to get her ready for a test today. She and I got to school early this morning and went over problems again on the board. She still struggles on where to place the numbers and what steps come next, but much progress was made! Let's hope some of it sticks for the test today!


While dad and Kate did division, Wil and I finished up his book report. We are reading about the eleven planets. Funny part for me is that he doesn't even remember that there used to be nine planets. And the numbers freak that he is, you know there are really only 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets. After getting the book done and the facts straight we constructed a model (that he got for Christmas) of the planets. Of course the model only had nine planets so he made the other two and the sun. It turned out awesome!! He is giving his oral presentation in class today! He is so excited!!


And last night Kristen was at "Grease" until late. When she got in the car she was screaming at the top of her lungs. She is SO excited about tonight!!!
