Back into the swing of things! Wil playing at Kirkwood. Unfortunately they lost, he and several players had to sit for awhile because they missed practice over Christmas break. He tried hard when he was in, brought the team back 14 points by half but second string killed them by giving up 7 points in 16 seconds and by the time first string was put back in they just couldn't make up the even bigger deficit! Team wins are fun... "Team" losses not so much! And I'm a freshmen coach so I get it!!

I've learned to appreciate the ordinary (yes I still like busy) ... I don't fret the awful times (as much) and wow do I ever appreciate the amazing times!

Swamp tour

Vacationed ended as we arrived in STL on Sunday morning. Kate's friends surprised her at the airport and kidnapped her and Kristen friends were waiting at the house at 2am when we got home! Sunday we went and toured the flood and saw several of our friends who have lost their businesses, so very tragic. Grocery shopping and laundry were accomplished before we all fell in fed exhausted but happy. Kristen still has a few more weeks of vacation and the rest of us are back at work and school! Happy New Year!!!

Saw and alligator nest in the swamp and a bald eagle nest with two babies in the top of this tree. Only Alaska has more Eagles than the Everglades.

New Year's Day was spent by the pool and dinner at downtown Disney springs. Crowded but fun! On Saturday we checked out of the hotel and drove down to Kissimmee to take a swamp boat tour! Lots of alligators and thousands of birds! Really wish I would have taken my god camera instead of my phone.

The countdown to midnight was a 360 degree firework show with the foreworks counting down the numbers, so impressive.

The DJ was a professional dancer and the castle changed colors with the music. Fabulous for teenagers.
