Under the lights

Ok I'll never tire of soccer under the lights when the weather is perfect. I know when I am old and look at these pictures I will remember the smell of the air and how much I love my kids... And yes I will miss these days of 500 miles a week on my car!! William winning 10-2, playing up a year. WTG Squids!!

St. Paul Soccer tournament

The past four days have been a blur of soccer! I know people think we have time for nothing else but we actually do squeeze in a million other things on the weekend, like dinner with friends, cleaning rooms, shampooing rugs, going to parties, dancing to the dj, watching fireworks, working the beer cart (too fun C, thanks for driving over all the bumps!) going out to a sit down lunch as a family, washing the cars, getting new tires on the mini cooper, sleepovers (yes again, i am a sucker), etc! Etc! Etc!

This week we also had a fabulous evening and dinner out with Chris' Uncle Danny and Aunt Nikki who I have not seen in 10 years. They have not changed a bit and are as funny and friendly and loving as ever. Our kids who don't really remember them at all fell completely in love with them and performed, sang, dance and generally talked their ears off until I know they left exhausted!! I see a CA trip in out future so we can see them again (and not in 10 more years)!!!

And ok, ok, ok we spent a lot, A LOT of time at the soccer fields too! Kristen's team ended up runner ups in the 8th grade tournament. They won their B division bracket but lost to the A division team 3-0 in the championship game. It was sweet and sad as this will be her last St Paul tournament as next year she is on to high school. She was very upset, but came back graceful as ever and we could not be more proud of her as a person or a soccer player, she is so talented in so many ways!

Kate and Wil both won their championship games 4-0! Kate had some amazing saves as a defender. Wil played goalie and made saves that did not seem possible!

Chris and I had Three kids in championship games today (what other person can claim that?)who played their hearts out, their passion and sportsmanship make me proud to be their mom!!! WTG St. Paul!!

WTG Kate! Second tournament championship this month! And her team makes it to the St Paul championship too! FIRST TIME EVER ALL 3 KIDS ARE GOING TO CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!! My face is going to burst from smiling!!!

Soccer under the lights

I suppose now that my kids are older it is not such a novelty to play under the lights at night, but I still love it, especially when the weather was as perfect as it was last night! Kate's team won 2-0 and we are super excited about going to the playoffs!!

Middle schoolers

Headball GOAL

Here is Kate with the 20 bucks her coach gave her for scoring the team's first ever headball goal! It was amazing as it happened in the last 20 seconds of the game to tie the game (playing against an older team!)

Bino's friendlies

The Angels won 2 and tied one in the tournament this weekend. It was HOT! We spent time between games at the food court at mid rivers mall since it was only 25 min from the fields. Kate had a great time, here they are having dinner at the food court.

This is is!?!?

Today was my first day at a new school. Here is me in the mirror wearing my new Sperreng tshirt, it says" this is it" on it because this is the last year for Sperreng school. This morning when I left I was going to post my feelings of "really?!? This is it?!?!".... It thought it was totally appropriate as it all seems like this job change is happening to someone else! Shouldn't I be wearing my Truman tshirt? Funny that teachers don't like change since we get new kids each year, but our school years are PREDICTAbLE!! After my morning which involved lots of tears (every time someone from my old school hugged me), and a few moments of reflection on the morning I thought "wow, this is it, my new professional life is starting" and I drove to my new school. After sitting through hours of meetings I once again thought, "ok, this is it, one day at a time." Phew...so this is it, my new professional life as a middle school teacher and basketball coach! Still not sure who I am anymore, but this is it....

Or 115 degrees heat index! Kate played four 30 min games on Sunday! She won 3 and tied one 0-0! Way to go Angels!

Kate's 6th grade orientation

Ok, I thought I sent this once.... Today Kate had orientation at the middle school. She was nervous and excited! As soon as she saw her friends she took off. She had an awesome day and can't wait for school to start!!

Ok, so when we were at the Lake we went to a bar to watch soccer, World Cup! Which Spain won and it was so amazing as Kate had picked Spain months before as her team! We took over the bar and had an amazing time in between boating. Well of course we had to come back on Friday for unlimited chips and salsa and karaoke night. There are some things that you will never forget and Chris and Wil singing "Chicken Fried" together on karaoke night is one of those moments, memories that are just too fun for words...

Soccer Campout

Saturday night we attending Kate's new soccer team, Lou Fusz Angel's, team campout. The team all slept in one tent or actually did NOT sleep until almost 4:00 a.m. There was lots of excitement all evening long.The hayride.

We all came home on Sunday and took at 3 hour nap! Now that's a good day!

Moving to Sperreng

Today Kate and Wil helped me move two truck loads of boxes to Sperreng. I would be lying if I said that I didn't choke back a sob. I'll miss Brandi and Truman more than anyone can imagine. That said I am ready for a new adventure... A few more truck loads of boxes and then lots of unpacking. 9 days until 6th grade orientation!
