Baseball winner (finally ;-)

Wil's baseball team won tonight 24-5! Amazing job by the fabulous
catcher!! Everyone was great!

5th grade garage sale

Kate spent the afternoon Friday organizing all the items donated to the fifth grade to sell at the 5th grade garage sale. The money raised will go to an orphanage in Haiti that her class has adopted! WTG Kate!

Raccoon

The kids found a sick raccoon in our neighborhood. After a few hours of trying we finally got someone to come pick the poor thing up!

Columbia soccer tournament

Ok so there wasn't much of a tournament! We played one game and won 4-0! Then got rained out! Kate and the girls mostly swam and ran around the hotel! Still fun times!!

Go cards

Our trip to the ballpark produced a winner! We arrived early for
batting practice and Kristen immediately caught a ball tossed into the
stands! Two more balls were bounced around in the stands and William
quick as he is pounced on them! At the very end of practice another
ball was caught and given to Kj's friend Kim! Everyone enjoyed the
family pavillion, William threw a fastball 43 mph! We even had an
impromptu baseball game! By the time the game started it was freezing
and a light rain fell! We sat for a few innings and gave up and went
to the pub to eat and watch the game in warmth!!! Cards won 4-3! We
will go back when it is warmer, but we couldn't pass up free tickets!
Fun night!

Leukemia Society

Kate's class collected the most money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society's in a challenge posted by the Truman student counsil! WTG Kate!

Cheerleader

It's official, Kristen made the 8th grade cheer squad! We will have to order a uniform and post a picture as soon as we can. Her first practice is today after school! So now not only will I get to watch show choir dances, listen to piano practices, run lines for the play, and listen to choir competition singing, BUT NOW I ALSO GET TO LISTEN/HEAR CHEERS! Oh my, not sure I can handle all this entertainment! Not to mention I guess I have to go to all the football and basketball games next year to hear her cheer....hmmmm maybe I didn't think this through before I said she could try out (but who would have thought out of 80 kids she would make the team ;-) Way to go KJ!

Baby shower

Kate's class threw her teacher a baby shower this afternoon. They
played shower games, ate cake, and of course had lots of presents!!
She doesn't know what she is having so we got cute orange polka dot
bibs and some plaid tennis shoes size O! Too cute!

Spring Weekend

Well Chris was home for the second weekend in a row and we hardly knew
what to do with ourselves! Last weekend we cleaned out a few more
flower beds and washed the entire north side of the house (yucky
mold). So this weekend we cleaned out and planted several more beds
(still two large beds to go ugh!). Chris also finished burning the two
huge trees that fell from the neighbors yard and mowe the grass both
weekends! The circle window was painted at the top of the house (yes I
did three trips up the 40 foot ladder, it is super high!). Both cars
washed and the garage cleaned out! Not to mention laundry and weekly
chores!

Of course we had soccer and baseball and sleepovers and friends over
and a fire pit! Kate last both her games by 1 point. Kristen won by a
huge margin, they stopped counting at 5-0 and she had 3 goals and 3
assists and played goalie the second half ( she was super fun to
watch!).

We have a very busy week ahead! Life never seems to slow down!
Although I don't know what I'd do with myself if it did! Have a great
week fambly and friends!

Beautiful weather ...

has produced a beautiful garden. We all love our front porch, probably
my favorite spot in the world right now!

Baseball

Another loss in baseball... We are learning to just love the game
around here. Good lessons for the competitive Ohlers! We already know
we love the nice weather and hanging out with all our friends!

More soccer

Wil's team played on the big field at CBC!! How fun! He tied the first
one (after being up 4-2 ugh!). He played goalie the second game and
they won 3-1.

Kate lost her game 0-1 on Sat, it was a tough loss but she's handled
it pretty good considering she was out sick all week at school (can't
seem to get rid of her fever and the doc says it is viral, she has not
been healthy this school year, poor baby!!)

Choir competition

Kristen competed in a choir competition this weekend. In her solo
performance she received a ONE, which is the highest rating (daddy
cried ;-). Still don't know her ratings for her quartet and group
performance, but we are super excited about the 1!! She sounded
amazing!! This picture is of her quartet. For her solo she sang "If
nobody marries me."

Champs

Kristen's team beat the undefeated team in indoor soccer. She scored
the first goal!!!

Locks of love

Kate donated her hair to locks of love (for the second time). So super
proud of her! And her new haircut is super cute!

Kate's first day of kindergarten

I can't believe this is my baby girl's last year with me at TRUMAN! Look how adorable they were on the first day of school!

Spring has sprung

In our yard and I couldn't be happier! Luv my gardens!

Eye exam

Kristen had her first eye exam today. She had a questionable screening
at school so they had me take her to my doctor. Since Chris and I both
got glasses around 9th grade I wouldn't have been surprised if she
needed them, but the doc said she has 20/20 vision. I felt so bad for
her when they did that puff of air in her eyeball, I knew it was going
to freak her out no matter how much I prepared her (funny how even
when your little girl is 13 you still want to protect her from the
craziest things!).

Baseball

Wil had his first game in his new league! The coaches wanted
competition and we got it! We lost 17-14! Oh my what a crazy crazy
game. Wil played catcher, right field and first base. He was 1 for 4.
I don't think my nerves are going to be able to take this, he plays
with everything he's got and wears his heart on his sleeve. How super
proud I was of how he handled himself throughout and after the game.

EASTER 2010

Although Easter is a bit different now that the kids are older, I was still very surprised when I found Kate and Wil sitting on the steps back to back playing on the laptops and talking and laughing! The clock chimed 8am and I heard Kate say, do you really think we have to wait 2 more hours to wake up mom and dad? LOL! So of course I woke up daddy and the hunt began! After almost an hour search we are still missing two eggs, no clue where they are. One is hard boiled and one is candy filled, we suppose we will smell the hard boiled in a month or so! UGH! Still hoping someone spies it!

The weather was beautiful! We had lunch and the annual egg hunt at Bushia's! We ended the afternoon at Ted Drewes (because more sugar is what you need on Easter)! Our evening was spent working in the yard and playing outside. I couldn't pick five pictures to post for the day so I dumped them all into a movie! Happy Easter!

Wil "isms"

Sometimes Wil says the funniest things! This morning at breakfast he
says "Bone in the teeth"... I was laughing so hard i asked did you
mean "bon appeti?"

In the car yesterday he asks "what happens if you're scared half to
death twice?" lol

When we were playing poker with the kids and I was winning, dad said
moms winning because Lucy keeps feeding her cards. Wil turned to Lucy
and said,"stop feeding her she's full." everyone fell out their chair
laughing!

When we were leaving six flags all the employees say,"We hope you have a six flags day!"...Wil says,"I only had a 2 flags day." LOL!

Six flags

Can you say "opening day?" we had a great time at six flags today even
though the lines were long! Just to buy tickets took an hour
(thankfully we had preprinted season passes thanks Grandma!), but we
had friends who waited to buy them ugh! We saw dozens of people we
knew and everyone got to ride at least one ride of their choice. I
thought Wil may have grown out of his roller coaster migraines but
alas no :-(. So even though he is fearless no fast rides for him and
he is ok with it! The girls and I on the other hand love the roller
coasters and they rode them many times! We only stayed 5 hours, much
longer than planned, but we will be back when lines are short! We
couldn't ask for better weather and I even remembered to put sunscreen
on Kristen! Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa, it is going to be a fun
six flags summer!

Birthday sleepover

Kate had 6 friends over to celebrate her birthday! They were up until
1 and then awake at 7:30 and already on trampoline!

Birdhouse

Daddy and Wil hung his birdhouse outback last night facing the woods!
Now we just need birdies!
